  • Lessons Learned from Building a Mobile App with Tauri and SvelteKit

At Impierce Technologies, we are developing UniMe, a digital identity wallet that gives individuals full control over their data. To successfully build a cross-platform mobile app with a small team, we chose Tauri and SvelteKit as our stack. • Demystifying Client & Server Rendering in SvelteKit

SvelteKit builds on top of Svelte to help us build performant web apps by providing routing, build optimization, data preloading, etc. On top of that, SvelteKit supports multiple rendering strategies that allows us to tailor our web app performance based on our needs and the available resources. You might have heard of terms such as SPA, SSR, SSG, CSR, prerendering, or hydration but not quite sure what they are. Or maybe, you were wondering which one is the best strategy for the next big thing you are building. In this talk I will explain about each rendering strategy, and show how flexible SvelteKit is by mixing and matching them in the same app.
  • Local First Svelte

Local First is about writing software that feels native. In this talk, I'll share real code to cover the spectrum of types of Local First apps built with Svelte 5 and Svelte Kit. From easy local data with IndexedDB, to advanced data syncing servers with Replicache and even multiplayer apps. After listening to this talk, attendees will understand both the landscape as well as the technical approaches to writing software that is incredibly fast, works offline and feels like a native app.
  • Slide... (to the left) – Presentations with SvelteKit & PartyKit

Let's set the scene. Your talk is due in two days. You should knock a couple of slides together. You dread facing PowerPoint again. It's so annoying. And everything turns out so ugly. What if you could use some HTML and CSS and magic to make beautiful slides quickly? ...Your talk is due in two hours. You're battling CSS centring and wonky transitions. Your hubris will be your downfall. It should have been so simple. A talk on repurposing SvelteKit to generate beautiful and lightweight online presentations quickly, leveraging PartyKit for synchronising slides across presenter view and a mobile clicker. Leverage reusable templates, dynamic backgrounds, markdown parsing, and some fun tricks to create splendid slideshows with a few lines of code.

  • Behavioral Testing with SvelteKit

Behavioral testing is a form of integration testing in which, after one defines and codes a few basic step definitions, the mass of test code is written in plain English (or another natural language). This means that everyone on the team, from the designers to the C-suite to even the end users themselves, should be able to understand, agree upon and contribute to a cadre of tests that both defines and verifies the behavior of your application. I'm tremendously excited by the possibilities of behavioral testing and I'd like to get you started with it in SvelteKit, and hopefully showcase some tools that could simplify first steps and expand the horizons of what's possible.
